A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of convening our 2018 State of the Foundation event at the Alumni Memorial Union at Marquette. At the event, I challenged our donors, community partners and corporate partners to not getcomfortable in 2018. I pledge to you all that Cream City Foundation will continue to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. How will we do that? Here are a few examples:
We are looking to invest more money into the 2018 Impact Grant Program. With your continued financial support, we will make this happen!
We are fostering new partnerships in the LGBTQ Scholarship Program for 2018. These partnerships will allow our scholarship winners to participate in a mentorship program. The monetary support that these scholarships provides is very important. But we also need to provide opportunities for these students to deepen their connections and professional network in southeastern Wisconsin so when they begin to look for a job after graduation they have someone to go to for assistance, someone to lift them up.
We are amping up our Convening Program in 2018. Over the next year, the Convening Program will host several events, each focusing on a specific obstacle or challenge facing our community today. I believe that Convening Program goes to the heart of our mission at Cream City Foundation. We are committed to our role as an action-oriented community change agent. Please be on the lookout for your opportunity to attend and participate in one of these convening events. (Our next convening will be Monday, April 9, 2018. See details)
Thank you for your support. Together will continue to push each other out of our comfort zone in 2018. We will open our eyes so that we can see and support opportunities to create real impact for those most vulnerable among us.
