Issue Background Recently, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force released “Outing Age 2010,” a report about the growing number of aging Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) individuals in the United States. LGBT Homeless Youth Initiative

About the Issue Several studies have concluded that in the U.S., approximately 20% to 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBT. In the Milwaukee metropolitan area, the specific number of homeless LGBT youth has not been recorded. However, reports indicate that there may be up to 400 homeless youth on the streets in the Milwaukee area on any given night. Out of Respect

In the Fall of 2009, Reel Life Films and J-Doc, a documentary film-making class at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, began production on a feature-length documentary about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender homeless young adults in the Milwaukee area.
